Rock N' Roller Johnny Thunders (RIP) Is My Style Icon Of The Week!
A little bit glam, a little bit punk, a little bit rock 'n roll and a whole lot of attitude, Johnny Thunders had the most amazing style! The New York Dolls and The Heartbreakers guitarist had androgynous fashion down to a science and he sure had no apologies for it.
Not only was he a legendary musician and personality, but his punk rock look inspired many boys (and girls) into wearing leather and platforms. He borrowed notes from Steven Tyler, Sid Vicious, Stevie Nicks, and David Bowie, and made his entire look his own.
Although he passed away in 1991 at 38 years old, his fashion and musical legacy still lives on. You can tell how he's inspired so many people in the rock n' roll world and will continue to do so forever. Hell, I wish I had a chance to peek in his 1973 closet!
Take a look through all these classic photos of the one and only Johnny Thunders. Do you LOVES or LEAVES the legend's style?
